What is CDIS?

The CDIS is an extensive web-based platform for community development investments and it will serve as a long-term link among the labour migrants, the Armenian Diaspora, repatriates demonstrating successful impact of their return to Armenia, and foreigners intending to invest in competitive community development projects and business ideas and influence the development of Armenian economy. The platform was developed by SEEBA, a consulting company in Stockholm, Sweden that provides services and tools in the field of business strategies and digital transformation. The aim of the project is maximizing the contribution of Armenian circular labour migrants on the development of Armenia through the repatriation of skills, experiences and financial capital from the Country of Destination to Armenia and connecting them with the Diaspora communities and other investors who would like to invest in business ideas.

The aim of the project

In the frames of the project from the 7th of May to the 10th of June labour migrants and residents of Shirak and Aragatsotn regions will have the opportunity to present their business ideas through the CDIS platform for in- kind (non-cash) support of up to 15 000 EUR. The proposals may concern new ideas for establishing new businesses or developing already existing ones. The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Arbetsförmedlingen (Swedish Public Employment Service), in partnership with the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. The project is being implemented within the framework of the Mobility Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union, and administered by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
