Transforming the understanding of labor migration and their business opportunities to make Armenia an attractive destination for investment.
The iMigrant platform is created to contribute to job creation and economy of Armenia through supporting and promoting direct linkages between migration and development. Labor migrants and diaspora are powerful players in the economic development of the country and they play a fundamental role in international affairs and foreign assistance. The main goal is to enhance diverse economic climates in Armenia through labor migrants’ and diaspora’s direct investment, which in turn will create new jobs, as well as groundwork for start ups and SMEs.
CDIS – Community Development Investment System is developed to support virtual return. On one hand tt facilitates a ‘dialogue’ among identified and assessed clusters, value chains, businesses and communities, and on the other hand, investors, primarily circular labor migrants, diaspora and/or Armenians living abroad with an interest to repatriate virtually, temporarily or permanently. Since its launch in Spring 2018, one grant has been approved to SMEs.
